Who this kit is for
You are the adult child. The toilet at your parent’s house is the hard part this weekend — standing up, sitting down, or both. You will not open the wall. Clamp-on or lock-on hardware that can leave with you is the job.
Two paths, pick one. Path A is a Medline rail that clamps at the seat bolts. Path B is a Drive raised seat with padded arms that locks onto the rim and adds five inches. Both are tool-light. Neither is a shower bar.
The shower is a different room. If the stall also needs a handhold, open Shower Entry, Shower Better, or Shower Renter. Do not cross those SKUs into this cart.
Who should not buy this kit
Skip this page if any of these are true.
They need a wall grab bar next to the toilet, into a stud. That is a different kit. Toilet Better is the path when it ships — frame plus a finish-matched wall bar. This page does not sell a flange into drywall. Drywall beside a toilet is not a suction job either.
You cannot clamp or lock anything to the bowl — landlord, house rule, or a toilet that will not take the hardware. Toilet Renter is the future no-wall path; not live yet. Until it is, honest stop — do not invent a wall mount from this cart.
The seat is a snap-on (no traditional seat bolts). Path A wants bolts. Snap-on seats fail that clamp. Check under the lid before you order Medline.
The toilet is already comfort-height (~17″) and they are short. Path B’s +5″ can leave feet swinging. Measure seat height first. Elongated bowls that will not lock the Drive plate are the other common miss — dry-fit before anyone trusts the arms.
You planned to stack a raised seat and a floor frame on the same bowl. Do not. One product. One mount.

What this kit assumes
Path A — Medline MDS86100RF. Traditional seat on bolts through the bowl. The rail clamps at those bolts so the frame does not skate. Arms about 26–31″ off the floor; width adjusts; handles rotate back. Foam grips. Folds. Tool-free on a bolted seat. 250 lb. Not a wall bar. Not for a snap-on seat.
Path B — Drive RTL12027RA. Standard-height round or elongated bowl with a rim the locking plate can grab. Adds 5 inches. Arms removable. 300 lb. Tool-free lock. Original seat usually stays up; lid will not close over the riser. Comfort-height and some elongated rims are the miss — if it will not lock tight, it is not installed.
Neither path is Install a grab bar on tile. That guide assumes a drill and a shower wall. This kit assumes the bowl is the mount.
Sit on it yourself — slow sit, firm push on each arm — before anyone else uses it. If it rocks, it is not done.
The elongated / comfort-height / snap-on problem in plain English
Hardware fails on geometry more often than on brand.
Snap-on seats. Many seats clip to posts instead of using bolts through the bowl. Path A’s Medline wants those bolts. If you lift the seat and see clips, Path A is the wrong cart. Path B or wait.
Comfort-height. A “comfort” bowl already sits near 17″ to the seat. Path B adds five more. For a shorter parent, feet leave the floor and the push-off gets worse. If they are already at a good height and only need arms, Path A keeps the seat height.
Elongated lock-up. Drive’s copy says standard and elongated. Some bowls will not cinch. Order with a return window. Dry-lock Saturday morning. A half-tight riser with arms is worse than the bare bowl.
Do not stack. A raised seat plus a separate toilet frame on the same fixture fights itself. Pick Path A or Path B.
Order of work Saturday
Friday. Measure seat height to finished floor. Round vs elongated. Bolted seat vs snap-on. Order Path A or Path B — not both. Confirm Prime before you drive over.
Saturday morning, dry. For Path A: confirm bolts, assemble the Medline, clamp at the bolts, set arm height to their hand, then a slow sit and a firm push on each arm. For Path B: set the Drive on the rim, tighten until there is no rock, arms on, same sit-and-push. If it will not lock, box it for return. Do not caulk it. Do not shim it with a towel.
Leave it or pack it. Path A folds. Path B unlocks. Put the original seat back when you leave. Recheck the clamp or lock the next morning — porcelain and plastic settle overnight.
When to abandon Entry
Abandon this cart as soon as you know the bowl will not clamp or lock, and you still need arms or height this weekend.
If they need a bar on the wall beside the toilet, stop. That is stud (or SecureMount) work, not a bowl clamp. Toilet Better is the named kit when it ships. Do not screw a shower-kit bar into drywall next to the toilet.
If the house rule is nothing on the bowl and nothing in the wall, stop. Toilet Renter is the future page for that brief. Until it is live, wait. Do not put a shower suction cup next to the toilet.
